Many years ago, when the Earth was still flat and
there had only been one George Bush in the WHITE HOUSE, I
was writing a comic book about an investigative agency
tackling supernatural threats. Chatri stepped in as
artist on a story or three, with his usual flair for
story-telling, and helped raise the comic book's quality
a little higher, as he always does.
But there came a time when things needed to be
shaken up. The heroes had developed a habit of winning,
and I didn't want the strip to become staid and
predictable. So I set about telling an ambitious story
about how the agency' s greatest nemesis forged pacts with
various other supernatural forces to destroy the agency ,
in a story line I called " PREACHING GENOCIDE ". The title
came from a Billy Bragg lyric which had stuck with me as
an intriguing turn of phrase--writers are magpies, after all.

As well as being a super comic book artist, Chatri
is also talented musician and, in the same way I 'd been
inspired by Billy Bragg lyric, he found himself inspired
to write music based upon the story line of my comic book.
A mumbled muttering of years later, we find
ourselves on bandcamp--I say " we " , but I really did
nothing more then write some stories that fired up
Chatri 's musical imagination. So here' s PREACHING
GENOCIDE, the album inspired by the comic book inspired
by the song lyric. Feel free to ignore my credit--this
is Chatri 's spotlight , I just happen to be the guy in the
front row applauding the loudest.
